Nursery Inspiration

I’ve been having so much fun browsing Pinterest and various blogs for nursery inspiration. Even though we don’t know the gender yet (this week is THE week!!!), I love the idea of a minimalist and neutral nursery. The accessories can be the gender specific stuff! (think throws, pillows, mobiles, etc). What appeals to me about the minimalist approach is that 1) it’s clean and crisp and 2) it helps ward off any excess. I know babies come with a host of supplies and gear, but I’ve also heard multiple parents remark at how little you actually NEED. In the spirit of minimalism that I’ve been convicted by recently, I want to keep our house AND our nursery as simple as possible. But no one said simple had to mean the same thing as un-stylish! So here are my top nursery inspirations so far:

1) This darling nursery has to be my favorite. I mean, the elephant print, the rocking chair, the rug, the floating bookshelf and dresser?! I swoon.

2) This nursery is a gem, as well. So darling. Definitely has more feminine touches, but it still doesn’t strike me as over done, and I love that. And c’mon…that giraffe print and that gold elephant?! LOVING it! (I must have a thing for safari animals…) I’m also coveting that gold pouf! Perfect.

3) This beautifully minimal and neutral nursery is so dreamy. I love the simplicity of it and the way she relied on the accessories to add to the space.

Can’t wait to start on my little papoose’s nursery! (Although I can definitely wait on the de-cluttering and organizing I have to do to get his/her current room clean…. ugh so much to organize aka toss out or find appropriate storage bins for!). Wish me luck!
