Life Lately

Charley’s first birthday is approaching WAY too quickly! It feels like time is speeding up day by day. Whoever said, “the days are long but the years are short” was so right. They pretty much nailed it on the head!! I’m trying to savor each moment with him. I have to remind myself daily to just stop and soak up these gloriously mundane moments; my to do list that is so important can wait. Holding him for an hour to help him go back to sleep when he wakes up too early. Setting my phone down and getting down on the floor with him to play. Making simple dinners or eating after he goes to bed, because he wants mama most during the evenings. (Making good use of my SollyBaby wrap & Lillebaby carrier these days!!) These are the moments that I’m trying to cherish.

There’s also lots of party prep going on & I’m getting so excited! I’m trying to keep myself reigned in, but Pinterest makes it so hard!!! 😉  I’m no Martha Stewart, but I do enjoy party planning occasionally. Keeping my expectations SUPER low, though, just so I don’t disappoint myself! lol  We all know the first birthday party is more for the parents than the child anyway 😉

As we’re approaching this big milestone, I’ve been reflecting on the first year a lot. There have been so many products that have helped us survive this first year and I’m excited to share those with you next week. Be sure to come back because I have a big surprise for you all in that post that you won’t want to miss!

AHH I hate that they have to grow up! But on a totally different note I adore the crib sheet!

What a cutie!! It does go by so fast. My little girl is just turned 18 months… yet it feels like just the other day we were heading to the hospital to have her. Tears!!

I am in the same boat! Mine is almost 10 months old, and I am all over the Pinterest party planning! It has flown by, and it is definitely bittersweet. I tell myself that a party will soften the denial I am experiencing that she is growing up 🙂

Hahaha maybe that’s what I’m thinking subconsciously….that it’ll soften the blow! 😂 Or maybe it’s a way to distract myself from how fast time is flying by!
