Good Mail Day

Last week, we got our Beautycounter Baby Skincare in the mail and all I could think was, “today was a gooooood mail day!!”

Poor C has suuuuper sensitive skin. I know, I know… all babies have sensitive skin… but not like C. C has “break out in hives 5 minutes after the dog kisses him” sensitive skin (don’t get me started…I want to cry all the tears. Poor puppy just wants to love on her baby! *sigh* I’m hoping someday that he grows out of it and Penny Lane can slobber all over him!). He has eczema and when he was about 2 months old, he had seborrhea (poor newborns… 2 months has got to be the WORST time for them and their skin!!).

So yeah, he has sensitive skin. 😉

ALL that being said, it’s been hard to find something that 1) won’t causes a flare up of his eczema and 2) I feel comfortable with and am confident is safe enough for his skin.

Beautycounter has been my favorite place to buy skincare and cosmetics for myself over the last year. I’m 100% confident in the safety of their products but I also know that they perform and are going to do what I want them to do.

So when they came out with their baby line this year, I was SO excited.

Here are some of my thoughts after using these products for a week:

Baby Gentle All-Over Wash: Love the lather & that it isn’t scented. Super gentle on C’s skin. It’s also a generous amount of wash, so I love that!

Baby Soothing Oil: I rub this in his skin before applying moisturizer & it’s a great way to add extra moisture. Also not heavily scented and didn’t cause a flare up. I like it and it’s also a generous amount. A little goes a long way.

Baby Daily Protective Balm: I love this. You can tell it’s hydrating but not super greasy. I even tried it on his bum; it was a little red in a couple spots so I rubbed some of this on there since I didn’t have any rash cream close by and it cleared up later that day! As with the other two products, a little goes a long way.

All in all, I felt like we got a great amount of product for what we paid. And the products are awesome. On top of being safe & effective, they look and feel so luxurious. You can’t deny the gorgeousness of the packaging!

Oh and mama got a couple things for herself, too 😉

Lip Sheer in Twig: This shade is a beautiful nude. It also won Allure’s Best of Beauty in 2014 😉  Makes your lips feel so soft and moisturized. I love it! Probably my favorite shade.

Color Outline Eye Pencil in Navy: Gorgeous. I love the navy. So perfect for spring. I had been using the black eye pencil but this is a nice alternative that feels lighter and more seasonally appropriate.

C was super excited about the boxes. Oh the fun! So, in addition to already having a good mail day, he got free toys! Ha ha boxes really are the best. He is so much more interested in boxes and containers than any toy he owns. This boy is growing up way too fast. <3

His hoodie and pants are Purl Lamb. But be warned…they’re very addictive. You will love them so much!

Take care & have a wonderful weekend!

xo, Emily

P.S. What are your favorite baby skincare products? I’d love to know!

I’d love to try this line for my son. Currently I’m still using Mustela and Honest.
